Chris Klucsarits

Christopher Morgan Klucsarits, known to the wrestling world as Chris Kanyon, was an influential American professional wrestler celebrated for his performances in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Born on May 4, 1970, Kanyon showcased athletic prowess in various sports during his youth, including roller hockey and basketball. He graduated from Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, New York, in 1988, and later earned a bachelor's degree in physical therapy from the University at Buffalo in 1992, where he also played rugby.

Kanyon made his professional wrestling debut in WCW, initially appearing as a jobber before forming a tag team known as "Men at Work" with Mark Starr. Their comedic persona involved portraying construction workers, adding a unique flair to their matches. Over the years, Kanyon adopted various personas, including the enigmatic Mortis, becoming a notable figure in the wrestling industry.

In addition to his wrestling career, Kanyon's life took a poignant turn as he became an advocate for mental health awareness after publicly acknowledging his struggles with bipolar disorder. He appeared in the CNN special "Death Grip: Inside Pro Wrestling" in 2007, shedding light on the darker aspects of the wrestling world.

Kanyon's legacy includes his posthumous memoir, "Wrestling Reality," released in 2011, which candidly explored his experiences as a gay man in wrestling. Tragically, he passed away on April 2, 2010, leaving behind a heartfelt note for his family. His contributions to the sport and his bravery in addressing mental health issues continue to resonate within the wrestling community.
