Lewis Capaldi
Lewis Marc Capaldi, a Scottish singer-songwriter, was born on October 7, 1996, in Glasgow and grew up in Whitburn, West Lothian. Renowned for his emotive voice, honest lyrics, and witty self-deprecation, Capaldi began his musical journey at the tender age of 11, performing at local pubs. His rise to prominence began when he shared a song recorded on his iPhone, which caught the attention of manager Ryan Walter. Capaldi became a household name with the release of his single "Bruises" in 2017, but it was his breakout hit "Someone You Loved" that catapulted him to international fame, topping charts in both the UK and the US. The song not only earned him a Grammy nomination but also became one of Spotify's most-streamed tracks. His debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, released in 2019, was the best-selling album in the UK for that year, followed by his second album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, which also topped charts in 2023. Despite his achievements, Capaldi has been candid about his battles with anxiety and Tourette's syndrome, which led to a temporary break from touring after a difficult performance at Glastonbury in 2023. He made a comeback in 2025 with the single "Survive," which debuted at No. 1 in the UK. In addition to his music, Capaldi is recognized for his Netflix documentary, How I’m Feeling Now, and is a cousin of actor Peter Capaldi. An avid supporter of Celtic FC, he is also a passionate advocate for mental health awareness.
