Hank White

Hank White, a distinguished figure in the film industry, was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With over 45 years of experience as an actor, producer, writer, casting director, and stage director, he has significantly impacted the Canadian cinematic landscape. As a proud member of the Nova Scotia Native Council Zone 12 and Eastern Woodland Metis, Hank has been a strong advocate for diversity within the industry.

In 1979, he founded Hank White Productions, becoming the first casting director in Nova Scotia. His commitment to inclusive casting practices has made him a trailblazer in the region. He played a pivotal role in establishing Film Nova Scotia and the Aboriginal and Visible Minority Shadow Program, both of which promote underrepresented voices in film.

Co-owner of Redemption Pictures Inc., Hank produced the critically acclaimed *Charlie Zone*, which notably won awards for Best Feature, Best Director, Best Cinematographer, and Best Actor at the 2011 Atlantic International Film Festival. This film holds the distinction of being the first Indigenous-produced feature in Nova Scotia.

As president of Stone Cold Productions Limited, Hank has produced and co-written several projects, including *8:37 REBIRTH* and *The Guardian*. His work on *Fractured* (2008) earned an official selection at the Atlantic Film Festival, while *The Decision* (2007) and *The Cab Driver* (2006) were also recognized in various festivals and broadcast on CBC. Hank White's contributions to film continue to inspire and shape the industry.
