Teodor Currentzis

Teodor Currentzis is a distinguished Greek-Russian conductor and musician renowned for his innovative approach to classical music. He served as the Chief Conductor of the SWR Symphony Orchestra from 2018 until 2024, during which time he garnered acclaim for his dynamic interpretations and engaging performances. In addition to his role with the SWR, Currentzis is the Artistic Director of musicAeterna, an ensemble celebrated for its bold programming and fresh interpretations. He also leads the Utopia orchestra and choir, further showcasing his commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional concert experiences.
