He is particularly recognized for his roles in popular television series such as 'Marc Eliot,' a gripping French police drama, and the family drama 'Dolmen,' along with his iconic portrayal of Captain Martin Bernier in the long-running series 'Research Unit,' which spanned twelve seasons.

Growing up in Jacob-Mesnil near Bretteville-sur-Laize, Xavier discovered his passion for acting at the age of 14 through amateur dramatics. He pursued formal training at the prestigious Cours Florent in Paris, where he caught the attention of noted actor Robert Hossein. His career began in earnest at 22 with his debut film 'Les surdoués de la première compagnie' in 1981, followed by other notable works like 'Belles, blondes et bronzées' and 'Les Branchés à Saint-Tropez.'

In 1984, he adopted the stage name Xavier Deluc to enhance his visibility, which led to a César nomination for Most Promising Actor in 1985 for his work in 'La Triche.' His subsequent performance in 'He Died with His Eyes Open' earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 1986.
