Isabella Wong Man-Ying (Chinese: 黃曼凝) was raised in Kowloon and completed her studies at the Department of Business Documents at Taiwan Ming Chuan College. Her journey in the entertainment industry began in 1981 when she participated in the promotional video for Miss Hong Kong. Shortly thereafter, she signed a contract with TVB (Television Broadcasts Limited), where she primarily featured in Chinese period dramas. Notably, she portrayed the character Guo Xiang in the 1983 series "The Legend of Condor Heroes" and played Yilin in the 1984 production "Swordsman."

In 1987, Isabella transitioned to Golden Harvest Film Ltd, becoming one of the company's renowned "Five New Flowers." Her career continued to evolve when she signed with ATV (Asia Television) in 1988. After a successful run in the industry, she decided to retire in 1993.

Years later, in 2004, Isabella entered a new chapter in her life by marrying Lu Weili, who serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Film and Television at Hong Kong Baptist University. Her journey from a budding actress to a respected figure in the entertainment realm reflects her dedication and talent throughout her career.
