Kim Jeong-ok, born in 1927 in Pyongyang, is a distinguished figure in the North Korean performing arts scene. She completed her education at Jinnampo Girls’ High School in South Pyongan Province before embarking on her theatrical journey in the early 1940s. With a remarkable talent for acting, Kim made her film debut in 1956 with the film "The Idiot Adada," directed by Lee Kang-cheon.

Throughout her illustrious career, she has showcased her versatility across various genres, appearing in over 80 films. Some of her notable works include "Simcheongjeon," "Seaside Village," and "Forest Fire," which have contributed to her reputation as a leading actress in the North Korean film industry.

In addition to her film accomplishments, Kim has made significant contributions to theater, performing in acclaimed productions such as "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" in 1959, "Flock of Seagulls" in 1963, and "Exchange" in 1966 with the Shinhyup Theater Company.
