Biography:
Mirlan Abdykalykov completed his studies at Kyrgyz National State University, earning a degree in Journalism in 2004. Before embarking on his academic journey, he showcased his acting talents from 1990 to 2001, taking on lead roles in three notable films directed by Aktan Abdykalykov, including "Swing," "The Adopted Son," and "The Chimp." Between 2010 and 2017, he served as the first assistant director on projects such as "The Light Thief" and "Centaur," both helmed by Aktan Arym Kubat. In 2010, he ventured into directing, marking his debut with the short film "Pencil Against Ants." His directorial journey continued to flourish, culminating in the release of his first feature film, "Heavenly Nomadic," in 2015.
