H. Maxwell Joseph, widely known as Max Joseph, was born on January 16, 1982, in New York City and has made a significant mark as a filmmaker and television personality. He gained widespread recognition as the co-host and cameraman of the hit series Catfish: The TV Show alongside Nev Schulman. Joseph contributed to the show for seven successful seasons, becoming a familiar face in the world of reality television. However, he took a brief hiatus during the fourth season to focus on his feature film debut, We Are Your Friends, a drama starring Zac Efron that hit theaters in 2015.

After a remarkable run on Catfish, Joseph announced his departure from the show, with his final episode airing on August 22, 2018. He was succeeded by Kamie Crawford in 2020.
