Tom Gilroy
Tom Gilroy is a multifaceted American artist known for his work as a director, writer, actor, producer, playwright, poet, musician, and educator. Over his career, Gilroy has made significant contributions to film and theater, directing, writing, and producing a total of five films, including the award-winning short film *Touch Base* and the highly regarded feature *Spring Forward*. His cinematic talents extend to television, where he has appeared in more than 20 series and 30 films.
As the founder of the theater company Machine Full, Gilroy has been instrumental in bringing over a dozen critically acclaimed productions to life. Notably, his recent work includes a groundbreaking multimedia rendition of *Hamlet* for the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival. In addition to his theatrical pursuits, Gilroy is a published haiku poet, with works such as *haiku year* and *Haiku, Not Bombs* showcasing his poetic talent.
His artistic collaborations include partnering with musician Michael Stipe on several projects, such as the track "Everything’s Coming Undone" featured in the compilation album *Ciao My Shining Star, The Songs of Mark Mulcahy*. Gilroy has also contributed musically to albums by artists like Stipe and Mark Mulcahy, and he produced Ariel Aparicio's album *Aerials*.
