Tom Wright

Harold Thomas Wright, known as Tom Wright, is a distinguished American actor with a prominent career in both television and theatre. He has an impressive repertoire, having participated in over 40 theatrical productions on and off Broadway. Wright's journey began as one of the original members of The People's Light and Theater Company, located near Philadelphia. His dedication to the craft led him to spend four years at the National Playwrights Conference and two summers at the prestigious Sundance Institute.

On Broadway, Tom appeared in "A Taste of Honey," a production that garnered two Tony Award nominations. His stage credits include performances at renowned venues such as the American Place Theater, Manhattan Theater Club, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Notably, he starred alongside Steve Guttenberg in "Farthest From The Sun" at Theatre De La Jeune Lune.

In film, Wright made a memorable appearance as a hitchhiker in the horror classic "Creepshow 2" (1987). He gained further recognition with his roles in "Barbershop" and its sequel, "Barbershop 2: Back in Business," alongside Ice Cube, and in "Sunshine State" with Angela Bassett, marking his fifth collaboration with acclaimed director John Sayles, whose other films featuring Wright include "Passion Fish" and "Matewan." For his performance in the indie film "Dumbarton Bridge," he was honored with the Best Actor Award at the Santa Monica Film Festival in 2000. On television, he is perhaps best remembered for his role as Mr. Morgan on "Seinfeld" and as the hybrid alien Tuvix in "Star Trek: Voyager."
