Stefan Gierasch
Stefan Gierasch (February 5, 1926 – September 6, 2014) was a distinguished American actor known for his extensive contributions to film and television. His career spanned over six decades, beginning in 1951, during which he amassed more than 100 screen credits. Gierasch’s early theatrical work included a notable stint with the Trinity Square Players in Providence, Rhode Island, in the mid-1960s.
He graced the silver screen with memorable roles in iconic films such as *The Hustler*, *Jeremiah Johnson*, *What’s Up Doc?*, *High Plains Drifter*, and *Carrie*. In the 1990s, Gierasch continued to make his mark with performances in *Junior* (1994), where he portrayed Edward Sawyer alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito, and in *Murder in the First* (1995) as Warden James Humson.
In addition to his film work, Gierasch was a familiar face on television, appearing in popular series such as *Starsky and Hutch*, *Star Trek: The Next Generation*, and *ER*. His versatility and talent earned him recognition in the industry, making him a respected figure in both film and television.
