Growing up in Atlanta, she honed her artistic skills at the Avondale High School for the Performing Arts before furthering her education at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she focused on experimental theater. Kaplan also graduated from the Academy of Art University film school, enriching her creative repertoire.

An accomplished drummer since the age of 12, Kaplan was part of the original American cast of the acclaimed percussion ensemble STOMP. Currently, she serves as the west coast drum coach for the renowned Blue Man Group. Her impressive musical collaborations include performances with notable artists such as Ty Taylor of Vintage Trouble, Adam Lambert, Rihanna, and Leslie Odom Jr. She has graced the stages of major television shows, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show, and The Academy Awards.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Kaplan is the Resident Director for the Broadway production of The Lion King, showcasing her talents in theater direction.
