She gained prominence as an avid follower of the iconic punk band Sex Pistols, frequently attending their concerts until the band's disbandment. During this time, she developed a personal relationship with Malcolm McLaren, the band's manager, becoming both his lover and protégé. Wellington-Lloyd is credited with creating the distinctive "blackmail" typography used for Sex Pistols flyers and concert posters, showcasing her artistic talent.
Her film career includes notable appearances in Derek Jarman's cult classic *Jubilee* (1977) and Julien Temple's *The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle* (1980), both of which captured the raw energy and rebellious spirit of the punk era.
Following her work in the film industry, Wellington-Lloyd's activities became less publicized. However, on September 20, 2001, she made headlines by auctioning off her significant collection of Sex Pistols memorabilia at Sotheby's in West Kensington, London, reflecting her enduring connection to the punk legacy.
