Charles Ashenoff
Charles Ashenoff, known by his ring name Konnan, was born Carlos Santiago Espada Moises and is a prominent figure in professional wrestling, recognized for his multifaceted career as a wrestler, manager, and creative consultant. With nearly 30 years in the industry, Konnan has made significant contributions to wrestling both in the United States and Mexico, holding an impressive fifteen championships across nine different promotions. His work encompasses roles as a color commentator, booker, and manager, especially noted for his time with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA).
Konnan gained widespread recognition in the United States during his tenure in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where he was a key member of the nWo faction and later led The Filthy Animals. In Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), he was instrumental in forming The 3Live Kru and the Latin American Xchange (LAX), both of which made a lasting impact on the promotion. In Mexico, Konnan was a trailblazer, becoming the inaugural CMLL World Heavyweight Champion and leading the successful Foreign Legion stable in AAA. He earned the nickname "The Mexican Hulk Hogan" for shattering attendance records across numerous venues, including a historic sell-out at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.
