Amy Trigg
Amy Trigg, born on November 28, 1992, is a prominent British actress and writer celebrated for her dynamic performances and commitment to representation in the arts. She gained widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Agnes in the musical *The Little Big Things*, a role that earned her the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical in 2024, marking a historic achievement as the first disabled actor to receive this honor in that category.
Trigg, who was born with spina bifida and uses a wheelchair, grew up in Witham, Essex, where her passion for theatre blossomed early on. She pursued formal training at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, making history as the first wheelchair user to complete a performance course there, graduating in 2013.
Her stage career began in 2016 with Laura in *The Glass Menagerie* at Nottingham Playhouse, part of the groundbreaking Ramps on the Moon project aimed at showcasing disabled talent. Trigg further established her presence in the industry as Sally in *The Who's Tommy* in 2017 and as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2019, where she played Juliet in *Measure for Measure* and Biondella in *The Taming of the Shrew*. During her tenure with the RSC, she shared insights through a blog series called Whispers from the Wings, advocating for greater representation of disabled performers.
Trigg's role in *The Little Big Things* was inspired by Henry Fraser's best-selling memoir and was featured on the streaming platform National Theatre at Home in April 2024, following its successful run.
