Claude Cerval
Claude Cerval (February 21, 1921 – July 25, 1972) was a prominent French actor known for his work in film. His career spanned over four decades, during which he starred in more than forty films between 1955 and 1971.
Cerval began his artistic journey after completing his secondary education, taking acting classes from notable figures such as Louis Jouvet. He gained experience performing in cabarets and on stage, with significant engagements at the Odéon Theater, ultimately becoming a member of the Théâtre national populaire. In addition to his theatrical pursuits, he also made contributions to cinema and television. One of his most memorable roles was as the villainous Count of Nansac in the 1969 ORTF series "Jacquou le Croquant," which solidified his reputation in the industry.
Tragically, Cerval's life was cut short when he passed away due to heart failure at the age of 51. His contributions to French cinema and theater, however, continue to be remembered and celebrated.
