Cassandra Sechler, renowned as the "Mistress of the Weird and the Wonderful," is a conceptual artist residing in San Francisco, California. With a strong foundation in fine art photography and psychology, Sechler crafts expressionistic pieces that resonate on both personal and poetic levels. Her artistic explorations often delve into themes of gender, sexuality, identity, dreams, and the influence of technology, positioning her uniquely within contemporary visual art.

Sechler earned her Bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University in 2009. Since then, she has taken on multiple roles, including curator, writer, actress, and director at Dreams For Dead Cats Productions (DDCP), a DIY production team she co-founded with filmmaker and musician Craig Jacobson. Together, they harness diverse media—including photography, film, sound design, and sculpture—to amplify the voices of non-commercial artists globally.

In addition to her work at DDCP, Sechler has served as the lead curator for several international film festivals, such as Dimensions, Mindscapes, and Technophobia, which toured across the United States. In 2013, she was honored to be a juror and host at the 4th Annual Mascara and Popcorn Film Festival in Montreal. An active figure in the Bay Area arts scene, she continues to organize underground film nights and showcase her artwork.

From 2008 to 2015, Sechler completed over 11 acclaimed short films, including notable titles like Belle Nouveau (2010) and Wireboy (2013). Currently, she is focused on producing feature films such as Dolly Deadly (2016) and Tearful Surrender (2017), alongside ongoing web series like Proof That It Happened.
