John Edmund Mulaney, born on August 26, 1982, is a multifaceted American comedian, actor, writer, and producer. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mulaney gained significant recognition for his writing on NBC's iconic sketch show Saturday Night Live (SNL) from 2008 to 2013. During his time there, he developed various sketches and characters, most notably the beloved Stefon, which he co-created with Bill Hader. After leaving SNL, he has had the honor of hosting the show six times, officially joining the prestigious SNL Five Timers Club in 2022.

Mulaney's repertoire of stand-up specials includes The Top Part (2009), New in Town (2012), The Comeback Kid (2015), Kid Gorgeous (2018), and Baby J (2023). His work has earned him two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special for both Kid Gorgeous and Baby J. In 2019, he also launched a children's musical comedy special on Netflix titled John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch.

In addition to his stand-up, Mulaney created and starred in the short-lived semi-autobiographical sitcom Mulaney (2014–2015) and performs as George St. Geegland alongside Nick Kroll in the comedic show Oh, Hello on Broadway (2016–2017). He has played a key role as a co-executive producer and writer in the IFC mockumentary series Documentary Now! (2015–2022) and has hosted and produced the Netflix talk shows John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's in LA (2024) and its spin-off Everybody's Live with John Mulaney (2025).
