Emily Cox

Emily Cox was born in Vienna to a British father and an Irish mother, both accomplished pianists who relocated to the city on a musical grant. Following her parents' divorce, Cox grew up immersed in a rich cultural environment. She completed her high school education in 2003, during which she discovered her passion for acting after participating in a school play as part of her English curriculum. This newfound interest led her to pursue formal training at the prestigious Max Reinhardt Seminar.

In 2008, Cox began her professional career as a stage actress at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna, where she honed her craft. Three years later, she relocated to Berlin, where her talents flourished on both the big and small screens. She has made notable appearances in various German and Austrian television productions, including several episodes of the iconic crime series Tatort.

Cox achieved international recognition for her portrayal of Brida, a fierce Viking woman, in the acclaimed historical drama series The Last Kingdom, which premiered in 2015. Her compelling performance not only captivated audiences but also solidified her reputation as a versatile actress.
