Tomiko Suzuki

Tomiko Suzuki (鈴木 富子, Suzuki Tomiko), born on January 3, 1956, in Aichi Prefecture, was a celebrated Japanese voice actress and narrator whose career spanned nearly three decades. At the time of her passing on July 7, 2003, she was associated with Aoni Production, a renowned voice acting agency.

Suzuki honed her craft at the prestigious Toei Audio Talent School, launching her professional career in 1975 with a silent role in the animated series Ikkyu-san. Throughout her career, she became particularly known for her remarkable ability to portray youthful characters, lending her voice to both boys and girls with exceptional skill.

One of her most notable roles came in the Pokémon franchise, where she voiced the titular character Jirachi in the film Pokémon: Jirachi Wishmaker. This film, released just a week and a half prior to her untimely death from acute heart failure, showcased her talent and left a lasting impact on her fans.
