Shaun Toub
Shaun Toub is an actor of Iranian-American descent, well recognized for his performances in both film and television. He gained prominence for portraying Farhad in the acclaimed 2004 film "Crash," as well as Rahim Khan in "The Kite Runner," and Yinsen in the cinematic adaptation of the "Iron Man" series.
Born in Tehran, Iran, Toub has Persian Jewish roots and spent part of his childhood in Manchester, England, as his family emigrated prior to the 1979 revolution. At the age of fourteen, he relocated to Switzerland for two years before moving to Nashua, New Hampshire, where he completed his final year of high school. His high school yearbook highlighted him as "the funniest guy in school and the most likely to succeed in the entertainment world." Following two years at a college in Massachusetts, Shaun made the decision to transfer to the University of Southern California (USC) to pursue his passion further.
Beyond his acting career, Toub is actively engaged in the Iranian Jewish community. He participates in various charity initiatives and public speaking, motivating others to appreciate the arts, which he believes enrich everyday life. His contributions have been recognized with the Sephard Award at the Los Angeles Sephardic Film Festival. Currently, Shaun Toub resides in Los Angeles, where he continues to make an impact both on and off the screen.
