Azizi Johari

Azizi Johari was born on August 24, 1948, in New York City. Due to her father's military career, she spent her formative years traveling around the globe before her family finally settled in Seattle, Washington. There, she completed her education, attending both high school and college. Known for her love of meditation and poetry, Johari adopted her professional name, which translates to "precious jewel" in Swahili.

In June 1975, Azizi gained recognition as the Playmate of the Month in "Playboy," marking her as the fourth African-American woman to achieve this distinction. Her career in entertainment extended beyond modeling; she toured with the legendary Sammy Davis, Jr. and showcased her acting talent in notable films including "The Killing of a Chinese Bookie," "Dreamer," "Seed of Innocence," and "Body and Soul." Additionally, she made a memorable guest appearance on the popular television series "The Six Million Dollar Man," further expanding her presence in the entertainment industry.
