Rachel Anne McAdams, born on November 17, 1978, is a celebrated Canadian actress known for her versatile roles in both film and television. After earning a theatre degree from York University in 2001, she began her career with various Canadian productions, including the 2002 drama Perfect Pie, which earned her a Genie Award nomination, and the acclaimed series Slings & Arrows (2003–2005), for which she received a Gemini Award.

McAdams made her Hollywood debut in the comedy The Hot Chick in 2002, but it was her breakout performances in the iconic films Mean Girls and The Notebook in 2004 that catapulted her to fame. The following year, she showcased her range in hits like Wedding Crashers, Red Eye, and The Family Stone, securing her status as Hollywood's new "it girl" and receiving a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Rising Star.
