Lee Unkrich
Lee Edward Unkrich, born on August 8, 1967, is a distinguished American film director, editor, and writer, renowned for his contributions to Pixar Animation Studios. Unkrich began his journey with Pixar in 1994, taking on the role of editor. He quickly ascended to co-director for the groundbreaking film Toy Story 2, released in 1999, which marked a significant milestone in animated cinema.
Following the acclaim of Toy Story 2, Unkrich continued to enhance his reputation by co-directing beloved films such as Monsters, Inc. in 2001 and Finding Nemo in 2003. In 2010, he made his solo directorial debut with Toy Story 3, a film that not only resonated with audiences but also garnered critical acclaim, culminating in an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. His next project, Coco (2017), further solidified his legacy, winning two Oscars, including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
