This film marked a reunion with River Phoenix, who had also starred alongside him in *Explorers*.

Gregg further solidified his status in Hollywood with notable roles, including Phillip Anderson in the 1987 horror hit *A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors*. Additionally, he appeared in the iconic 1989 adventure *Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade*, again sharing the screen with Phoenix. His career also includes a memorable part in the acclaimed mini-series *Lonesome Dove*, portraying Sean O’Brien, an Irish immigrant whose fate becomes pivotal to the storyline.

In 1990, he led the cast of the sci-fi action film *Class of 1999*, and his recent work includes a role in the 2002 drama *Whiplash*. Gregg’s directorial debut came with *14 Days in America*, which he also produced and edited. After taking a hiatus following the tragic death of his friend Phoenix, he has returned to Los Angeles to revitalize his career.

Alongside his wife, Dawn, whom he married in 1991, Gregg produced the documentary *Journey to Jemima*, chronicling an American couple's adoption journey in Kazakhstan. The couple has five children together: Zion, Mcabe, Braverijah, Galilee, and Jemima.
