Michael Patrick McGill
Michael Patrick McGill, the eldest of two sons, was born to Anne McGill and the late Gerald F. McGill, Jr. His younger brother, Patrick, arrived in 1976. Growing up in the Fox River Valley, Mike graduated from Appleton East High School in 1991. He pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 1991 to 1993, before taking a hiatus to join the U.S. Army Reserve. Following Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, he returned to academia, transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where he earned a degree in Radio/TV/Film in 1995.
Mike served in the 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and was among the first units activated for Operation Joint Endeavor after the signing of the Dayton Peace Accord. He spent the first half of 1996 stationed in Durdevik, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Upon returning home, Mike joined WLUK-TV 11, the FOX affiliate in Green Bay, where he worked in the production department, managing the audio board during newscasts and coordinating local commercial breaks. A highlight of his time there was witnessing the Green Bay Packers' triumphant journey to their Super Bowl XXXI win against the New England Patriots.
Mike made his move to Los Angeles on April 1, 1998—April Fool's Day. His debut TV appearance was a brief role as "Babe Ruth" in a flashback on "Touched by an Angel" (1994). He now resides in the San Fernando Valley with his wife Amy, their son Jake, and their dog Elvis, as he continues to pursue his acting career.
