Alexandr Gordon
Alexandr Gordon is a prominent director known for his work in both fiction and documentary films, as well as a respected television presenter. Born in 1964 in Obninsk, he graduated from the prestigious Shchukin Theatre Institute in 1987, specializing in acting and directing. Gordon began his career hosting various popular television and radio programs in Russian across the United States from 1989 to 1997, before returning to Russia to continue his work in television.
His film career took off in 2002 with his debut feature, "The Shepherd of His Cows," which won the best debut award at the 9th Russian Film Festival "Literature and Cinema." Gordon's 2011 film, "Brothel Lights," garnered significant acclaim, receiving the Audience Sympathy Award at the Pacific Meridian International Film Festival, a diploma at Kinotavr, and nominations for the prestigious Golden Eagle and NIKA awards.
In addition to his narrative films, Gordon has made significant contributions to documentary cinema, creating works such as "End of the Century," "Collection of Delusions," and "LDPR. 20 Years Facing Russia." Throughout his illustrious career, he has earned five TEFI awards for his innovative programs "Closed Screening" and "Gordon Quixote," solidifying his status as a leading figure in the Russian film and television industry.
