Alysa King
Alysa King is a talented Canadian actress, singer, and live performer whose career spans both stage and screen. Her journey in the entertainment industry began in her childhood when she appeared in numerous commercials and magazines. After completing her secondary education, she pursued her passion for the arts, enrolling at Sheridan College, where she graduated with honours from the Theatre Arts program.
Alysa then transitioned to Queen’s University in Kingston, earning a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Dramatic Arts and English Literature & Language, as well as a Bachelor of Education. While at Queen's, she became deeply involved in the local theatre scene, taking on significant roles in productions such as "Punchline" with the Plastic People Theatre Company and "Framed" with Facebox Theatre. Notably, she also made waves by portraying a female version of Romeo in a reimagined rendition of "Romeo and Juliet" with Vagabond Theatre.
After her academic pursuits, Alysa returned to film and television, making a significant impact in 2014 with her standout performance in the acclaimed horror film "Berkshire County," directed by Audrey Cummings. Her portrayal of Kylie Winters garnered her multiple "Best Actress" awards at international film festivals and contributed to the film's success, which had a national theatrical release in Canada and ranked among the top five Canadian films during its run. More recently, she appeared as a recurring character in the acclaimed TV series "Slasher" and took the lead in Black Fawn Distribution’s "Bed of the Dead," which captivated audiences on the festival circuit, including screenings at prestigious events like the Fantasia Film Festival and Toronto After Dark Film Festival.
