Lynne Ashe

Lynne Ashe, a native of Gainesville, Georgia, grew up as the middle child in a family with deep roots in the poultry industry, thanks to her father Nat Ashe, and her mother, Bebe Ashe, who worked as a legal secretary. From a young age, Lynne was determined to pursue a career in acting and writing, revealing her ambitions at just four years old. By the age of eight, she faced an early setback when she discovered that her chosen stage name was already in use by the legendary Debbie Reynolds.

Lynne's heritage is primarily Irish and English, with intriguing rumors of a distant connection to Thomas Ashe, a 16th-century Irish settler, and possibly to Queen Elizabeth II, although she views this lineage with playful skepticism.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from Brenau University and was among the inaugural graduates of the Gainesville Theatre Alliance, a collaborative program with the University of North Georgia. Her academic journey continued at Wake Forest University, where she received a graduate assistantship and studied under esteemed professor James Dodding, a mentor to notable figures like David Bowie and Gary Oldman. Lynne developed a profound love for Shakespeare and British Restoration Theatre, even earning a grant to study at The Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Despite sustaining an ankle injury that required extensive surgery and ultimately preventing her from completing her degree, Lynne treasures her experiences with renowned professors, including Maya Angelou, and values the knowledge and skills gained along the way.
