Allen Leech, born on May 18, 1981, is a notable Irish actor, primarily recognized for his portrayal of Tom Branson in the acclaimed historical drama series Downton Abbey, which aired from 2010 to 2015. His acting journey commenced in 1998 with a minor role in a production of A Streetcar Named Desire. He gained significant attention with his performance as Vincent Cusack in the film Cowboys & Angels and received his first Irish Film & Television Awards nomination in 2004 for his role as Mo Chara in Man About Dog.

Leech took to the stage as Willi in Queen and Peacock at the Garter Lane Arts Centre in 2000, followed by appearances in The Morning After Optimism (2001) and Da (2002). His breakthrough came in 2003 with Cowboys and Angels, and in 2004, he played Shane Kirwan in the Irish TV series Love Is the Drug, earning a nomination for Best Actor at the Irish Film and Television Awards.
