Irem Altug
Irem Altug embarked on her acting journey at the tender age of 7, capturing audiences through a variety of TV commercials and films. She made her film debut in "Women's Ward" (1990), directed by the renowned Halit Refig. To hone her craft, Altug pursued formal training at a conservatory in Istanbul and furthered her studies in the theatre department at San Francisco State University.
Throughout her career, Irem has delivered memorable performances across numerous television series. Notable roles include a criminologist named Zeynep in "Seytan Ayrintida Gizlidir" (2004), a belly dancer named Feride in "Under the Trees" (2005), and a young lawyer named Bahar in "Vazgeç gönlüm" (2007). She also portrayed a police officer, Asya, in "Kayip Araniyor" (2011), a housemaid named Reyhan in "Ask Ekmek Hayaller," and a mysterious woman, Ruya, in "Masum" (2017). Her portrayal of Ayse in the acclaimed series "The Pit" (2017-2019) further solidified her status in the industry.
In recognition of her talent, Altug received a nomination for Best Actress for her role in the film "Nar" (2011). Beyond acting, she is an accomplished writer, creating short stories and scripts for both short and feature films. Her award-winning short film "Love Is Blind" (2011) showcases her skills as a writer and producer. Irem is fluent in Turkish and English, and possesses an intermediate proficiency in Spanish.
