Bonnie Wright
Bonnie Francesca Wright, born on February 17, 1991, is a versatile English actress, model, director, and activist, renowned for her portrayal of Ginny Weasley in the acclaimed Harry Potter film franchise.
Wright was born in London and began her acting career at an early age, making her debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001). She continued to embody the character of Ginny for a decade, concluding with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). After the series wrapped, she transitioned to independent cinema, appearing in films such as Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013), and After the Dark (2014), which met with varied critical reception. In 2013, she also made her theatrical debut, taking on the lead role in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse.
Wright earned her bachelor's degree in filmmaking from the University of the Arts London in 2012. She then established her own production company, BonBonLumiere, and started producing short films. Her directorial debut was the coming-of-age film Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012), which featured David Thewlis and garnered praise at the Cannes Film Festival. She continued to direct projects such as Know Thyself (2016) and Sextant (2016), both exploring themes of landscape and emotion. Her series Phone Calls premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. Additionally, she directed Medusa's Ankles (2018), based on A. S. Byatt's works, and has made music videos for artists like Sophie Lowe and Scarlett Johansson.
