Graeme Blundell

Graeme Blundell, born in 1945, is a multifaceted Australian talent known for his work as an actor, director, producer, writer, and biographer. Hailing from Melbourne, he grew up in the suburb of Clifton Hill and received his education at University High School and the University of Melbourne. Blundell's early theatre career saw him involved with notable institutions such as La Mama Theatre, the Pram Factory, Hoopla, the Playbox Theatre Company, and the Melbourne Theatre Company. Notably, he both directed and performed in the premiere of Jack Hibberd's play "Dimboola" at La Mama.

His television career began with an uncredited role in the first episode of "Homicide" in 1964, but he is perhaps most recognized for portraying the titular character in the 1970s cult sex-comedy film "Alvin Purple." In addition to his acting pursuits, Blundell has made significant contributions to journalism, writing extensively for The Australian newspaper. He is also an accomplished biographer, having penned works such as "Brett Whiteley: An Unauthorised Life" (1996, co-authored with his then-wife Margot Hilton) and "King" (2003), a biography of Graham Kennedy.
