Maimi Yajima
Maimi Yajima (矢島舞美) is a prominent Japanese singer and actress, best known as the leader of the idol group ℃-ute and a key figure within Hello! Project. Her journey in the entertainment industry began at a young age when she joined Hello! Project as one of the original Hello! Project Kids. She initially gained recognition as a member of ZYX, the first group to feature these talented kids, before ascending to the position of leader in °C-ute.
In addition to her singing career, Yajima served as the sub-captain of Little Gatas and showcased her athletic prowess, being regarded as one of the fastest runners in Hello! Project. She also became involved in the Mix Gatas project and played a role in Gatas Brilhantes H.P. as a field player.
On November 16, 2007, it was announced that Maimi would collaborate with Hello! Project soloist Abe Natsumi on a single titled "16sai no Koi Nante," which was released on January 16, 2008. Maimi's acting career took a significant leap when it was revealed by Kojina, President of Mirai CO, on March 11, 2009, that she would star alongside Fukuda Kanon in the film "Fuyu no Kaidan" (Winter Ghost Story). A preview was unveiled at a press conference on May 23, 2009, and the film was officially released in theaters on July 25, 2009, with Maimi taking on the lead role of an entity tasked with exterminating evil spirits. The DVD was released on January 6, 2010.
