Anthony Baxter
Anthony Baxter embarked on his professional journey in journalism in 1989 at Capital Radio. He honed his skills as a Producer at BBC Radio 5 Live and contributed to the popular BBC factual series Top Gear, as well as working with Independent Television News (ITN). In 2011, Baxter made his mark in documentary filmmaking with his inaugural feature, You've Been Trumped. The film garnered significant acclaim, winning the Best Environmental Film award at the Sedona Film Festival, the Maysles Brothers Award at the Denver Film Festival, and the Sheffield Green Award at Sheffield DocFest.
Following this success, Baxter directed A Dangerous Game in 2014, which earned nominations for the Audience Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the Sheffield Green Award at Sheffield DocFest. He also created a sequel to his earlier work, titled You've Been Trumped Too, which premiered in 2016.
In 2021, Baxter's documentary Eye of the Storm premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival before airing on BBC Two, where it received the prestigious Best Specialist Factual award at BAFTA Scotland. Throughout his career, Baxter has consistently focused on impactful storytelling, shedding light on environmental issues and the complexities surrounding them.
