Early in her career, she was sometimes credited as Mary Hill, and she garnered attention for her leading role in the cult classic sci-fi film, *Mesa of Lost Women* (1953). Throughout the 1950s, she appeared in notable films such as Paramount's *The Greatest Show on Earth* (1952) and Warner Bros.' *The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms* (1953), showcasing her versatility as an actress in both major productions and B-movies.
In addition to her film work, Hill made significant contributions to television, landing substantial roles in series like *Dragnet* (1956), *The Man Called X* (1957), and *Mike Hammer* (1958). Her talents extended beyond drama; she displayed her comedic chops in popular shows such as *Burns & Allen* (1955) and *The Red Skelton Show* (1957), proving her ability to captivate audiences with both humor and depth.
