Eklundh began his artistic journey at Lärkan High School in Helsinki in 1984, later honing his craft at the Theater Academy in the city from 1985 until 1989. His professional career took off when he joined Åbo Svenska Teater, where he worked from 1989 to 1994, achieving significant recognition for his portrayal of Mozart in "Amadeus," which marked a pivotal moment in his career.

Following this breakthrough, Eklundh spent a decade freelancing at various esteemed theaters, including the Swedish Theater in Helsinki, the Little Theater, Viirus Theater, and Espoo City Theater. He returned to the Swedish Theater for a tenure from 2005 to 2011 and resumed his role there in the autumn of 2014.
