Chiu Sam-Yin, born in 1947 in Hong Kong to a family from Shantung, has made her mark in the film industry as a talented actress. After completing her secondary education, she embarked on her artistic journey with the 4th Southern Experimental Theatre Training Troupe. Following the troupe's disbandment in 1964, Chiu secured a four-year acting contract with the illustrious Shaw Brothers studio, where she made her film debut in the romantic comedy *Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore*.

In 1968, Chiu gained recognition for her roles in two significant martial arts films, *The Silver Fox* and *Golden Swallow*, both directed by the celebrated Chang Cheh. She continued to showcase her acting prowess in 1969 with appearances in several notable films, including *The Swordmate*, *Dragon Swamp*, and *The Singing Escort*.

Chiu's tenure with Shaw Brothers marked a vibrant period in her career, but she ultimately chose to retire from acting upon fulfilling her contract.
