Suzu Hirose (広瀬 すず), born on June 19, 1998, in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka, Japan, has established herself as a prominent actress and model in the Japanese entertainment industry. She gained significant recognition for her portrayal of Suzu Asano in the 2015 film "Umimachi Diary," directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda. In this live-action adaptation of Akimi Yoshida's manga, Hirose's character, a teenage girl who is taken in by her estranged half-sisters after their father's death, captivated audiences and critics alike. Her performance earned her the Japan Academy Prize for "Newcomer of the Year" and the "Best New Actress" award from Kinema Junpo, among other honors.
