Iko Uwais, born Iko Qorny on February 12, 1983, in Jakarta, Indonesia, is a prominent actor, stuntman, fight choreographer, and martial artist. Renowned for his dynamic performances in action cinema, he gained widespread acclaim through his roles in films like Merantau (2009), The Raid (2011), and its sequel, The Raid 2 (2014).

Iko's journey in martial arts began at the tender age of 10 when he started training in pencak silat, a traditional Indonesian martial art, under the tutelage of his grandfather, H. Achmad Bunawar, a respected silat master and founder of a local silat academy. His dedication paid off in 2005 when he clinched the national championship in the Silat Demonstration category.

His international career took off with a notable appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) as Razoo Qin-Fee. Iko further showcased his versatility in Hollywood with roles in Mile 22 (2018) and Stuber (2019). In 2019, he starred as Kai Jin in Netflix’s Wu Assassins, later reprising this role in the sequel film Fistful of Vengeance (2022).

On the personal front, Iko married singer Audy Item on June 25, 2012, and they have two daughters, Atreya Syahla Putri Uwais and Aneska Layla Putri Uwais. Recently, he captured attention when a Japanese fan, Norihiro Matsuo, expressed deep emotions upon meeting him, underscoring his global appeal.
