Maritza Montañez
Maritza Montañez is a talented improviser, educator, and bookseller based in Brooklyn, with her roots tracing back to California's San Joaquin Valley. She has made a significant impact in the improv community, particularly at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and Training Center, where she taught and performed prior to the onset of the pandemic. As a member of the weekend house team, The Law Firm, she showcased her skills alongside the cast of Living Room: The First Generation, a unique improv show that delved into the experiences of first-generation Americans from immigrant families.
Maritza has an extensive performance history, having graced the stage on Harold Night for two years with both At Last! and Party City, as well as participating in Lloyd Night for two years with the teams seventeen and the Nightmare. Her creativity also shone through her role as the host of the popular indie show Kaleidoscope.
In addition to her live performances, she has been featured in various video projects for notable platforms such as Disney+, MTVNews, and Fusion, along with contributions to fun collaborative videos with friends. Maritza honed her skills in improv, sketch, and character work at UCB Theatre, while also pursuing studies in history and Spanish at New York University.
