Ryan Coogler (born May 23, 1986) is a prominent American filmmaker known for his work as a director, producer, and screenwriter. He has garnered significant recognition throughout his career, receiving ten NAACP Image Awards and four Black Reel Awards, along with nominations for two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and even a Grammy Award.

Coogler made his mark in cinema with his debut feature film, Fruitvale Station (2013), which was an independent project. He then moved on to helm major franchise films, including the spinoff of the Rocky series, Creed (2015), and the blockbuster Marvel movies Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). Additionally, he produced the critically acclaimed historical drama Judas and the Black Messiah (2021) and is set to release the supernatural horror film Sinners (2025), which he both wrote and directed.

In 2013, Coogler was featured on Time magazine's list of 30 under 30 who are making a difference in the world. He was a runner-up for Time's Person of the Year in 2018 and was honored in the Time 100 list of the world's most influential figures. In 2021, Coogler, alongside his spouse Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, established Proximity Media, a multimedia production company.
