Nico Mirallegro
Nico Cristian Mirallegro is a talented English actor, best known for his portrayal of Barry "Newt" Newton in the popular British soap opera Hollyoaks, where he graced screens from October 22, 2007, to June 25, 2010. Born to a Sicilian father and an Anglo-Irish mother, Nico grew up alongside his younger sister, Claudia Marissa, born in 1992. Before landing his role in Hollyoaks, he was honing his skills at the Manchester School of Acting, starting in February 2007.
In addition to his work on Hollyoaks, Nico played Cam Spencer in the web series LOL, which delves into themes of relationships, drugs, and sexuality. He also starred in the short film Six Minutes of Freedom, released for download on January 12, 2011, following its successful festival circuit in 2010. The film featured him as Chris, a troubled teenager aspiring to be a boxer, alongside his sister Claudia.
Nico's versatility as an actor is evident through his various roles, including Jamie, a bullied gay character in the BBC drama Moving On, and Giovanni Mannasorri, an Italian exchange student in the long-running series Doctors. He received further acclaim for his performances in the BBC period drama Upstairs Downstairs and in the psychological thriller Exile.
Continuing to expand his repertoire, Mirallegro starred in the film Spike Island, centered around the iconic band The Stone Roses, which premiered in November 2012. He later captivated audiences with his role as Finn in E4's teen comedy My Mad Fat Diary, beginning on January 14, 2013.
