Jerrika Delayne Hinton, born on September 28, 1981, in Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas, is a talented American actress celebrated for her portrayal of Dr. Stephanie Edwards on the acclaimed medical drama Grey's Anatomy.

Hinton earned her bachelor's degree in liberal arts with honors from Southern Methodist University in 2002, where she focused on theater and directing.
