Lynda Jean Carter, born on July 24, 1951, is a celebrated American actress and singer, best recognized for her iconic portrayal of Wonder Woman in the 1970s television series, The New Original Wonder Woman (1975–77) and The New Adventures of Wonder Woman (1977–79). Standing at 6 feet tall with striking blue eyes, Carter was often hailed as one of the most beautiful women in America. Raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she faced challenges in her youth due to her height; however, encouragement from friends led her to explore the performing arts.

After honing her vocal talents in high school, where she was recognized as the most gifted student, Carter briefly attended Arizona State University before pursuing a career in music, touring with various rock bands. In 1972, she captured the title of Miss World USA, marking a pivotal moment that propelled her to New York City to study acting.

Carter's early television career included guest roles on shows such as Starsky and Hutch, but it was her casting as Wonder Woman that catapulted her to fame.
