Andy Hurley
Andrew John Hurley, born on May 31, 1980, is a prominent American musician best recognized as the drummer for the renowned rock band Fall Out Boy. Before joining the mainstream music scene, Hurley honed his skills in various hardcore punk bands, showcasing his versatility and passion for music. In 2003, he became the official drummer for Fall Out Boy, contributing to their dynamic sound until the band's hiatus in 2009.
During this break, Hurley co-founded the heavy metal supergroup The Damned Things alongside Fall Out Boy’s guitarist Joe Trohman. Their debut album, *Ironiclast*, was released in 2010, but the band soon went on hiatus as members returned to focus on their primary projects. Hurley further explored his hardcore roots by joining the band Enabler, which released its debut album and toured extensively in 2012.
Fall Out Boy made a triumphant return in 2013, announcing a new album and tour on February 4. Their fifth studio album, *Save Rock and Roll*, debuted on April 16, 2013, marking a significant comeback. This was followed by the punk EP *PAX AM Days*, launched on October 15, 2013. The band's sixth album, *American Beauty/American Psycho*, released on January 16, 2015, achieved commercial success, debuting at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200, solidifying Hurley's status in the rock music landscape.
