Billy Cox
William “Billy” Cox is a renowned American bassist celebrated for his significant contributions to rock music, particularly through his collaborations with the legendary Jimi Hendrix. As the last surviving musician who frequently shared the stage with Hendrix, Cox's career began to soar in the late 1960s. He was a key member of the ensemble that accompanied Hendrix at the iconic Woodstock Festival, known informally as “Gypsy Sun and Rainbows.”
Cox's collaboration continued with the dynamic trio that included drummer Buddy Miles, which produced the acclaimed live album *Band of Gypsys*. This project showcased a fusion of rock, funk, and blues, further solidifying Hendrix's innovative sound. Following that, Cox joined forces with Mitch Mitchell for The Cry of Love Tour, bringing Hendrix's music to audiences worldwide.
