**Amy Waddell Biography**

Amy Waddell, born in Athens, Greece, was nurtured in a household rich in artistic influence, which shaped her keen visual perspective and compelling narrative style. Her filmmaking journey gained momentum with the short film "The Mask Maker," which garnered significant recognition, screening at twenty film festivals and earning a gold medal for "Best Short" at the Chicago International Film Festival. This project was a stepping stone that followed her selection as one of eight women for the esteemed Directing Workshop for Women (DWW) at the American Film Institute.

In 2008, Waddell made her mark in feature filmmaking with "Brothel," distributed by Vanguard Cinema. The subsequent year, she undertook an ambitious documentary project, capturing the wisdom of ten remarkable Native Americans over an 18-day river rafting expedition through the Grand Canyon. Her commitment to storytelling extends to humanitarian issues, as she has produced several documentaries addressing crises in Darfur, India, and Israel for Charles Annenberg Weingarten's philanthropic initiative, explore.org.
