Françoise Denise Aline Blanchard was a talented French actress and dubbing artist, born on March 22, 1954. Before embarking on her acting career, she initially worked as a hand model. Throughout the 1970s, Blanchard collaborated with notable directors such as Michel Gérard, Jacques Peroni, Bruno Mattei, and Richard Balducci, but it was her role in Jean Rollin's 1982 horror film "La morte vivante" ("The Living Dead Girl") that cemented her legacy. In this film, she portrayed Catherine Valmont, a young woman resurrected by toxic waste who must consume human blood to survive. Her gripping performance, particularly in the climactic scene, was acclaimed for its intensity, leading many to believe she convincingly portrayed madness.

Following her breakthrough, Blanchard worked with Rollin on additional projects, including "Les trottoirs de Bangkok" (1984), the short film "À la poursuite de Barbara" (1991), and her final film appearance in "La nuit des horloges" (2007). She also starred in various films during the 1980s, including Jesús Franco's "Revenge in the House of Usher." In addition to her acting, Blanchard lent her voice to French dubbing, providing the voice for characters like Olive Oyl in Robert Altman's "Popeye" (1980) and Margot Wallace in "Hackers" (1995), while also working on popular TV series like "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "Totally Spies!". Françoise Blanchard passed away on March 10, 2013, just twelve days shy of her 59th birthday.
